Pyrrhic loyalist victory The Ultramarines hold Percepton at the cost of an Exterminatus by phosphex.

The 34th Company of the Word Bearers under Captain Sor Talgron and Dark Apostle Jarulek, at the opening of the Shadow Crusade, crippled half of the Ultramarines’ Percepton fleet in 27 minutes, but the ground battle dragged on for 163 days, until the Master of the 17th Chapter, Aecus Decimus, unleashed phosphex (which Guilliman abhorred). The world was reduced to scorched ash.
