Byzant Janizars

The Byzant Janizars are a regiment from the Byzant system, the mortal component of Horus’s 63rd Expeditionary Fleet; on every conquered world the Janizars provided the occupation force and an Imperial Commander. The regiment followed Horus, but its commander Hektor Varvarus was a famous loyal exception: he refused to betray the Emperor and was mortally wounded on Aureus by a shot that, on autopsy, proved to have come from a Sons of Horus bolter.

A regiment of the Solar Auxilia/Imperial Army from the Byzant system; the mortal army component of Horus’s 63rd Expeditionary Fleet. Commander — Hektor Varvarus.

Fate

The regiment followed Horus; but its commander Varvarus remained loyal and was killed by a shot from a Sons of Horus bolter — the internal murder of the only commander who would not have turned.
