Stygies VIII is a forge world on the largest moon of the gas giant Vulcanis, which was granted two Titan Legions on account of its proximity to the Eye of Terror. Both resident Titan Legions, Legio Vulcanum I and II, went over to treachery. At home Chaos cultists seized the manufactoria in surprise strikes, but a small detachment of loyalist tech-priests held the Temple of Knowledge until it was liberated by the Saim-Hann eldar, who acted so as not to hand a strategic forge to Horus.
