Meros / “the Red Angel”

Meros — an Apothecary of the Blood Angels, a junior medicae of the 9th Company. On Signus Prime, where Horus sent the Blood Angels to turn them to Khorne through the Red Thirst, Meros and his brothers fought through hordes of daemons to the Cathedral. When the daemon Kyriss offered to spare the Legion if Sanguinius sacrificed himself, Meros leapt into the vortex first, taking the curse upon himself.

Fate

Died on Signus Prime (~007.M31): leapt into the vortex of Chaos, cut out his own gene-seed, gave it to Sanguinius and let the rage consume him, becoming the “Red Angel” — his sacrifice broke the Red Thirst over Signus.
