Ollanius Pius / Persson

Ollanius Pius / Ollanius Persson (“Oll”) — a mortal (in the current canon an immortal Perpetual) who stood between Horus and the Emperor on the Vengeful Spirit. The character has been rewritten many times: guardsman → Imperial Fists Terminator → Custodian → Perpetual. In the finale he discharged a lasgun at Horus and was reduced to a bloody mist, but it was the death of a mortal that made the Emperor strike with his full strength.

Fate

Killed by Horus (014.M31) on the Vengeful Spirit — but as a Perpetual, “death” is not necessarily final for him; his final status is deliberately left open.

  • Ollanius Pius / Persson — The Emperor of Mankindoath

The Perpetual at the Father’s Feet. In current canon Ollanius Persson is a Perpetual, not the “guardsman with a lasgun” of the old legends (that version has been retconned and survives, disputed, as a myth). Aboard the “Vengeful Spirit” he steps between the Emperor and Horus and dies.
