Battle of Arissak · destruction of Meduson’s fleet

Place: Arissak · Segmentum Ultima

Fig. 1 · Place on the map

Traitor victory Marr smashes Meduson’s fleet, but the Warleader himself escapes alive.

Tybalt Marr caught the combined fleet of Shadrak Meduson’s Shattered Legions — cells of the Iron Hands, Salamanders and Raven Guard — at Arissak and inflicted heavy damage in ships and warriors. The greatest fleet defeat of the splinter Legions, but not the end of their leader: Meduson survived, and the vendetta with Marr dragged on for another two years — until the Aragna Chain.

Significance

Breaks the fleet strength of the Shattered Legions and drives Meduson into a vendetta that will end at the Aragna Chain.

Canon note

  • Arissak is neither the death of Meduson nor the end of his rebellion: the canon keeps these events apart. Arissak (009.M31) is a heavy defeat that Meduson survived; his death is at the Aragna Chain (011.M31), where Marr beheads him two years later. The canon does not fix dates within M31 any more precisely.
