Battle of Sotha · seizure of the Pharos

Place: Sotha · Segmentum Ultima

Fig. 1 · Place on the map

Pyrrhic loyalist victory Dantioch overloads the Pharos at the cost of his life, destroying the Night Lords’ fleet.

Guided by the warp beacon after Tsagualsa, the remnants of Krukesh the Pale’s Night Lords struck without warning at the lightly defended Sotha to seize the xenos Pharos beneath Mount Pharos, the anchor of the Imperium Secundus’s navigation. Warsmith Barabas Dantioch sacrificed himself by overloading the Pharos and destroyed the enemy fleet — but the beacon was wrecked, blinding the second Imperium.

Disputed in the canon

  • c. 009.M31 (Lexicanum infobox + Fandom chronicle); the Thramas / “Pharos” materials place it in the last days of 010.M31 — this is one and the same attack, not a double count.
