The forge worlds of the “Belt of Iron” in the Segmentum Tempestus and Segmentum Pacificus unleashed total war over the legitimacy of the Emperor as Omnissiah: adherents of the Dark Mechanicum — Incunabula, Urdesh, Valia Maximal and Kalibrax — against the loyal Graia, Arl’yeth and Atar-Median. Even the intervention of the Dark Angels could not extinguish the fire, and the forge battles thundered on long after the Heresy.
