Lectitio Divinitatus

Lectitio Divinitatus is a religious movement worshipping the Emperor as the one true god of mankind, named after a book written by Lorgar before the fall (irony: he is also the lord of the legion that purged religion). It was suppressed as a violation of the secular Imperial Truth. The imagist Euphrati Keeler became its living icon-“saint”, working miracles; the cult spread throughout the fleet and Terra as the forerunner of the Imperial Cult.

More

Named after a book written by Lorgar before the fall (a bitter irony: he also led the legion that burned religion out), and suppressed as a violation of the secular Imperial Truth. Its living icon became the imagist-remembrancer Euphrati Keeler, who worked “miracles” and cast out daemons, while the movement spread through the fleets and Terra from below, in defiance of the ban. The loyal Death Guard legionary Nathaniel Garro carried a copy of the book, and the cult of the God-Emperor grew in the very thick of the Heresy. Thus the Lectitio Divinitatus became the forerunner of the Imperial Cult — the Adeptus Ministorum and the Ecclesiarchy of later millennia — and its text largely flowed into the Imperial Creed.

Fate

Forerunner of the Temple of the Saviour-Emperor and the Imperial Cult (Adeptus Ministorum/Ecclesiarchy, M32+); the text of the book largely flowed into the Imperial Creed.
