The death of Alpharius / Omegon

Positions

  1. Position 1

Praetorian of Dorn: one of the twins is killed at the hand of Rogal Dorn during the First Battle of Pluto.

    • Praetorian of Dorn (John French)
  2. Position 2

The one who died may not have been who he claimed to be: the practice of swapping bodies and names within the XX Legion makes identification fundamentally unreliable.

    • Legion (Dan Abnett)
    • Praetorian of Dorn (John French)
  3. Position 3

Staff records cannot treat the XX as a single body in principle: many bore the name “Alpharius”.

    • Lexicanum: Alpharius Omegon

Our position

The event of the death and the character “Alpharius and Omegon” both remain in the atlas; where the canon is riddled with gaps, the side is marked “Traitor (disputed)”. The atlas does not choose for the reader “who exactly is dead”. The force snapshots for the XX are the least reliable in the whole atlas: do not build accuracy charts from them.

  • Legion (D. Abnett)
  • Praetorian of Dorn (J. French)

Events of the dispute

The first major battle of the Solar War: the Alpha Legion, drifting in stasis with reactors shut down, penetrated the Sol system and struck at Pluto, targeting the astropathic station Hydra in order…
