Rogal Dorn

Rogal Dorn, “Praetorian of Terra”, primarch of the Imperial Fists, is a loyalist and the greatest fortifier of the Imperium. He built the defences of the Imperial Palace, withstood the ambush at Phall and commanded the defence of Terra throughout the Siege. In the finale he teleported to the Vengeful Spirit together with the Emperor and Sanguinius, and afterwards carried his mortally wounded father to the Golden Throne.

Relations

Rogal Dorn — Perturaboenmity
The Praetorian and the Lord of Iron. Mirror-image geniuses of siegecraft: Dorn builds and holds, Perturabo breaks, and believes he is never thanked. The Siege of Terra is their main contest; Perturabo withdraws without having broken the walls down, and later takes his revenge on Dorn with the Iron Cage.
Event: The Siege of Terra · 014.M31 · Pyrrhic loyalist victory
Alpharius and Omegon — Rogal Dornkilling
The Hydra at Pluto. In “Praetorian of Dorn” one of the twins (canonically read as Alpharius) dies at Dorn’s hand at Pluto. It is disputed who exactly fell and whether for good: the Alpha Legion is built so that this death proves nothing.
Event: First Battle of Pluto · 010.M31 · Loyalist victory
Rogal Dorn — The Emperor of Mankindoath
The Praetorian. Dorn is recalled from the crusade to turn the Palace into a fortress — and remains at this post to the end. He does not forgive himself for not reaching the “Vengeful Spirit” in time, and after the Heresy he seeks death in the Iron Cage and the wars that follow.
Event: The Siege of Terra · 014.M31 · Pyrrhic loyalist victory
