Leman Russ against Horus (Battle of Trisolian)
Event: Battle of Trisolian
Place: Trisolian System · Segmentum Ultima
Having ambushed Horus’s escort fleet in the Trisolian system, Leman Russ personally led the boarding of the Vengeful Spirit and ran the Warmaster through with the Spear of Russ — but at the last moment he hesitated and did not deliver the killing blow, for an instant cleansing Horus of corruption. Russ, mauled by Horus’s claw, was saved only by the Space Wolves who came rushing in a crowd: Bjorn and the Huscarl Grimnr Blackblood dragged the unconscious primarch away from Horus; then Grimnr stayed behind to hold the Warmaster, and Bjorn hauled Russ to the dropship. Drained by the wound, Horus dispatched Abaddon in pursuit of the fleeing Wolves.
Outcome Russ wounds Horus with the Spear of Russ, but himself nearly dies and falls into a coma.
