Legio Infernus / Legio Suturvora

“Fire Masters” (Legio Suturvora), known by the end of the Heresy as Legio Infernus — secret agents of the Warmaster. At Calth they deployed at full strength (≥130 Titans) to destroy the loyalist Titan force, and betrayed their oath to Terra by opening fire on a conveyor carrying dozens of loyal Titans. Later they fought among the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar against the loyalist Praesagius and Oberon.

Disputed in the canon

  • Legio Infernus and Legio Suturvora are one and the same legion under two names: the Lexicanum infobox for the “Fire Masters” reads “Legio Suturvora / Legio Infernus” and gives “also known as Legio Infernus” for the end of the Heresy. The atlas merges both names into one entry; mentions of “Suturvora at Calth” and “Infernus in Ultramar” refer to the same formation.
