Primarch · Legion I · loyalist
Lion El’Jonson
Lion El’Jonson, primarch of the Dark Angels, is a loyalist, yet he spent almost the whole Heresy far from Terra: first the gruelling Thramas Crusade against Curze’s Night Lords, then the rule of Imperium Secundus together with Guilliman and Sanguinius. When he led the Legion through the Ruinstorm towards Terra, he did not arrive in time for the decisive Siege.

Relations
- Konrad Curze / the Night Lord — Lion El’Jonsonenmity
The Night and the Lion. Even before the Heresy, Curze beat Dorn on Cheraut; with the Lion he is bound by Thramas — years of mutual hunting. Curze considers the Lion a hypocrite, the Lion considers Curze a rabid dog. Neither “talks the other round”: there are only ambushes and duels.
- Lion El’Jonson — Lutherbetrayal
Caliban Divided. Luther is the Lion’s foster father, left behind on Caliban. Over the years of the Heresy he raises half the Legion against the primarch. The destruction of Caliban at the beginning of the Scouring is the Dark Angels’ own domestic civil war, not part of Horus’s plan.
- Lion El’Jonson — Roboute Guillimanalliance
The Triumvirate of the East. The Lion comes to Ultramar as Lord Protector of Secundus — and at once as a potential rival. The Trial of Konrad Curze and the disputes over power show that the alliance of three primarchs rests on the Ruinstorm, not on trust. When the road to Terra opens, Secundus is dissolved.
