Ferrus Manus

Ferrus Manus, “the Gorgon”, primarch of the Iron Hands, with hands of living metal, is a loyalist and the first of the primarchs to fall in the Heresy. On Isstvan V he led the first wave of loyalists, disregarded the advice to withdraw and was cut off. His own brother Fulgrim beheaded him with a daemonic blade and carried the head to Horus.

Relations

  • Fulgrim — Ferrus Manuskilling

Brothers of the Forge. The closest of friends among the primarchs, bound by craft and pride. On Isstvan V Fulgrim (already under the Laer blade) beheads Ferrus — the first death of a primarch in the Heresy and the point of no return for the III and X Legions.

  • Vulkan — Ferrus Manusbrothers

The Smiths of the Loyalists. Both are craftsmen and Fulgrim’s “iron” brothers. The death of Ferrus on Isstvan wounds Vulkan differently from Corax: it is the loss of the only one who spoke to him in the language of the forge, not of the Legion. From then on Vulkan fights as ash that never goes out.
