Traitor victory Aximand’s armada takes Pluto; Sigismund is wounded but teleports away.

In the opening strike of the final phase of the Solar War, a Sons of Horus armada under Horus Aximand stormed Pluto while Perturabo’s Iron Warriors struck at Uranus. Aximand overcame Sigismund in single combat, but the latter teleported to the frigate “Persephone”, having severed Aximand’s arm.

Significance

Opens the traitors’ final breakthrough to Terra in the Solar System itself.

Canon note

  • 014.M31 — the strike of Aximand’s armada on the Khthonic Gate of Pluto simultaneous with Perturabo’s strike on the Elysian Gate of Uranus. Distinct from the First Battle of Pluto (c. 010.M31, Dorn kills Alpharius), which Lexicanum calls the first major battle of the Solar War; on the wiki this is a genuine knot of confusion.
