Atrocity Erebus steals the Kinebrach anathame and sets the Luna Wolves against the Interex.
Having wrested the prison-world “Murder” from the megarachnid xenos, Horus’s 63rd Expeditionary Fleet made diplomatic contact with the advanced human civilisation of the Interex, allied with the xenos Kinebrach. First Chaplain Erebus secretly penetrated the Hall of Devices on Xenobia, stole the daemonic Kinebrach anathame and blew up the museum; the Interex took it for an Imperial attack, and war broke out. It is this very blade that would later strike down Horus on the moon of Davin.

Significance
The mechanism that set Horus’s fall in motion: the stolen anathame would deal him an incurable wound.
Disputed in the canon
- The canon gives no exact date; the order is fixed by Lexicanum’s wording — “Warmaster Horus” was already present on Xenobia, so both the war on “Murder” and the break with the Interex came after the Triumph on Ullanor (000.M31).
