Garviel Loken
Garviel Loken — captain of the 10th Company and a member of the Mournival, the conscience of Horus’s Legion, who was kept out of the conspiracy because of his loyalty. On Isstvan III he once more called himself a Luna Wolf and fought the traitors, miraculously surviving as the mad “Cerberus”. Garro recruited him into the Knights-Errant, and at the Siege of Terra he was one of the three defenders of the Emperor on the Vengeful Spirit.

Survived the final confrontation (unlike Oll) — one of the few witnesses to the duel of the Emperor and Horus.

The Mournival Split. Two captains of one “family” of Horus. On Isstvan III Abaddon stays with the Warmaster, Loken on the surface under the virus bombs. Their rift is the human face of the split in the XVI Legion; in the finale it will be Erebus, not Abaddon, who finishes Loken off.

The Son Who Was Cast Down. Loken is brought into the Mournival as the conscience of the Legion. Horus personally consigns him to Isstvan III. The surviving Loken becomes a Knight-Errant and in the finale meets his fallen father again — before Erebus kills him after the Emperor’s duel.
