Mortarion
Mortarion, “the Death Lord”, primarch of the Death Guard from poisonous Barbarus, is a traitor. On the way to Terra his fleet became trapped in the warp, where Nurgle’s Destroyer Plague turned the Legion into the first Plague Marines. At the Siege of Terra he clashed with Jaghatai Khan, who beheaded him and banished him into the warp.

Fate
Banished into the warp during the Siege, but survived. After the Heresy he seized the Plague Planet in the Eye of Terror and became a daemon prince of Nurgle.

- Jaghatai Khan — Mortarionduel
The Wind and the Poison. The Khan takes a long time to choose a side; Mortarion despises his “frivolity”. During the Siege the Khan retakes the Lion’s Gate and knocks Mortarion off Terra in a personal clash — a rare case in which a loyal primarch physically banishes a traitor from a planet.

The Battle-Captain against the Primarch. Garro is a paragon of the XIV Legion, whom Mortarion sends to die on Isstvan III. The flight of the “Eisenstein” makes Garro the herald of the Heresy and the first of Malcador’s Knights-Errant.
