Pyrrhic loyalist victory The White Scars break through to Terra via the webway at heavy cost.

When the Ruinstorm severed long-range warp transits, the White Scars waged an exhausting war of manoeuvre, seeking a road to Terra through traitor-held space. At the Kalium Gate and in the Catallus Rift they clashed with the Death Guard and the Emperor’s Children, searching for the “Dark Glass” device. Targutai Yesugei sacrificed himself, opening the webway gates, and Khan brought the surviving fleet out to the Throne, hewing down a summoned Keeper of Secrets.

Significance

Brings Jaghatai Khan’s Legion to the defence of Terra and reveals the loyalty of the White Scars.
