Primarch · Legion V · loyalist
Jaghatai Khan
Jaghatai Khan, “the Warhawk”, primarch of the White Scars, is a loyalist whose allegiance no one knew until the last days of the Heresy. Trapped by the Alpha Legion on Chondax, he then broke through along the Path of Heaven by way of the warp and the webway gates to Terra. During the Siege his riders wore the traitors down with raids, and he himself banished Mortarion into the warp.

Relations
- Jaghatai Khan — Mortarionduel
The Wind and the Poison. The Khan takes a long time to choose a side; Mortarion despises his “frivolity”. During the Siege the Khan retakes the Lion’s Gate and knocks Mortarion off Terra in a personal clash — a rare case in which a loyal primarch physically banishes a traitor from a planet.
- Jaghatai Khan — Horus Lupercalrivalry
The Choice of Chogoris. Horus considers the Khan a natural ally of freedom against the “tyrant Father”. The Alpha Legion pins the White Scars down at Chondax so that the decision comes late. The Khan chooses Terra not out of love for the Imperial Truth but out of hatred for the slavery of the warp.
