Plot (spoilers: many)
The death of Sanguinius, the duel of the Emperor and Horus, Malcador’s sacrifice, the confinement on the Golden Throne, the murder of Loken by Erebus. The point for the sake of which the whole map exists. Spoilers are maximal; read only after the whole Siege cycle.
Events in the book
- Death of Sanguinius · the Emperor against Horus Loyalist victory
Horus lowered the shields of the “Vengeful Spirit”, luring the Emperor. Sanguinius reached him first — and was killed, refusing to betray the Emperor (thus the Black Rage was born).
- Emperor Interred on the Golden Throne Loyalist victory
The maimed Emperor, together with the body of Sanguinius and the skull of Ferrus Manus, was carried into the Palace.
- Loken Murdered by Erebus Atrocity
After Horus’s death Garviel Loken insisted on remaining beside the body of the Warmaster.
