Primarch · Legion XII · traitor
Angron
Angron, “the Red Angel”, primarch of the World Eaters, is a former slave-gladiator with the Butcher’s Nails in his skull and a traitor who hates the Emperor for the comrades left behind on Nuceria. In the Shadow Crusade he and Lorgar butchered scores of worlds of Ultramar, and on Nuceria itself Lorgar raised him to be a daemon prince of Khorne. By the end of the Heresy he is a daemon who fought at the Siege of Terra.

Fate
A daemon prince of Khorne — the first primarch to be ascended by Khorne. Cast back into the warp when the Siege failed.
Disputed in the canon
- The canon does not say outright which primarch became a daemon prince first: Lexicanum (Angron, Fulgrim) names no “first”, and the dates are approximate — Fulgrim on Iydris ~007.M31 (“Angel Exterminatus”), Angron on Nuceria during the Shadow Crusade (“Betrayer”) — 008.M31 (disputed — see the event). The atlas chronicle places Iydris earlier; “first” in Angron’s fate means only among those ascended by Khorne. Precedence overall is disputed (glossary: “Daemon Prince”).

Relations
- Angron — Lorgar Aurelianalliance
The Red Angel and the Aurelian. Lorgar is the only brother who treats Angron as a man and not as a weapon. They wage the Shadow Crusade together; on Nuceria Lorgar “saves” Angron by raising him up to Khorne — a gift Angron did not ask for.
- Khârn the Betrayer — Angronoath
The Equerry and the Primarch. Khârn is captain of the 8th Assault Company and Angron’s equerry, who kept the XII Legion within the bounds of regulations longer than anyone. His loyalty to Angron outlives Nuceria, the Siege and Skalathrax, where Khârn, now as “the Betrayer”, will hack down his own brothers — the logic of the Nails carried through to its end.
